Dr. Archil Chkhotua is the Professor and Chairman of the Division of Urology in the University of Georgia, Scientific Director of the National Center of Urology, Tbilisi, Georgia. After graduating the Tbilisi State Medical University in 1989, he completed residency training in urology at the Institute of Urology, Tbilisi, Georgia. His post-graduation training was extensive including: Department of Organ Transplantation, Rabin Medical Center, Tel-Aviv, Israel; Dialysis, Nephrology and Renal Transplant Unit, University of Bologna, Italy; Transplantation Centre, University Clinic Ulm, Germany; and Montefiore Medical Center, New York, USA.
His subspecialty areas are: kidney transplantation, onco-urology, laser surgery in Urology, vascular access surgery, etc.
Since 2014 Prof. Archil Chkhotua is the Secretary General of the Georgian Urological Association. He is the member of: the European Association of Urology (EAU), Société Internationale d’Urologie (SIU), The Transplantation Society (TTS). He has been awarded Key Opinion Leader Award of The Transplantation Society in 2010, and the Honorary Member of the Eurasian Uro-Oncological Association (EUA) in 2018.
Prof. Archil Chkhotua is National Delegate and the member of the Executive Committee of the European Board of urology (EBU) since 2018.
Since 2021 he is the Secretary of the European Board of Urology (EBU).
